Santo Domingo. – The Executive Branch made official this Friday, through decree 135-26, the promotion of nine senior officers to the rank of general and rear admiral, in order to strengthen the command of the Armed Forces.
The provision includes promotion to brigadier general (ERD) of Colonels Guillermo Jiménez Arciniega, Oscar L. Ares Gómez, Gustavo Reyes Morales, Jhojany Ramón de Jesús Suriel Otañez, Ignacio Arquímedes Morel Brito and Manuel José Matos y Matos.
In addition, Tomás Rafael Brache Ovalles was promoted as medical general (ERD), Richard V. Sierra Rodríguez as pilot general (FARD) and Aramis Alexandro Céspedes Aybar as rear admiral (ARD).

At the same time, President Abinader ordered the honorable retirement based on seniority of eleven officers, ensuring their state pensions.
Among those retired are Major General Hernández Olivero (ERD), Vice Admiral Jiménez Lorenzo (ARD) and generals Muñoz Jiménez, Acosta Piantini, Reynoso Green, Rosario Pérez, Mota Medina and Reyes Castillo.
Rear Admiral Julio Ángel Morales and the FARD generals, Hernández Calcaño and Puig Hernández, complete the list.
