Foreign Minister Yván Gil reported that in Norway social movements and activists mobilized in the streets in order to express their solidarity with Venezuela.
On his Telegram channel, the chancellor indicated that “Solidarity transcends borders and unites people under the same flag: the fight for sovereignty, justice and peace.”
He specified that from Norway, he received “moving images of people, social organizations and activists marching in the streets of Oslo in rejection of the imperialist aggression against Venezuela.”
Gil stressed that we are facing “an aggression that is manifested through the violation of international law, including extrajudicial executions in the Caribbean Sea and the imposition of unilateral coercive measures. “In the face of attacks on our homeland, we respond with more popular power, more democracy, more sovereignty and, above all, with growing solidarity that comes from all corners of the planet,” he concluded.
Maduro thanked for solidarity
It is worth remembering that last Tuesday, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, thanked to the people of Oslo, the capital of Norway, “who took to the streets by the thousands to ask for peace for Venezuela and reject the war in the country, as well as the military threats in the Caribbean by the United States.”
“I want to thank from here the people of Oslo and Norway who in their thousands took to the streets today to ask for peace for Venezuela, to support Venezuela in its desire for peace and development, to say no to war for oil, no blood for oil,” he expressed.
