The Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, reported on Tuesday that he held a meeting with Chakil Aboobacar, general secretary of the Mozambique Liberation Front (Frelimo) and his delegation, in order to strengthen the ties of friendship, on behalf of President Nicolás Maduro.
The representatives of the African nation are in Venezuela, strengthening the ties of friendship “established in 2005 thanks to the legacy of Commander Hugo Chávez and his tireless struggle for the unity of our Caribbean and African peoples,” Gil said in his Telegram channel.
The Foreign Minister said that this «fight is still alive today, under the leadership of President Maduro, who facilitated the signing of ten cooperation agreements last year, which we are committed to monitoring and strengthening. In addition, we have expressed our most sincere congratulations to the people of Mozambique for the recent celebration of its 50th Anniversary of Independence, a milestone reached after decades of resistance against Portuguese colonial domain ».
It should be remembered that Venezuela and Mozambique signed 10 cooperation agreements in matters of agricultural production, mining, housing, culture, education, woman and gender equality, and hydrocarbons, in May 2024.
