This assertion was made during his speech this Monday in the General Debate of the V United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries, from Doha, Qatarinformation reviewed by the Chancellery of the Republic, through its account on the social network Twitter.
“The Covid-19 pandemic has unleashed a series of challenges that negatively add to the multifaceted global crisis that humanity is facing today and that has further deepened the gaps between the North and the South,” said Foreign Minister Yván Gil , said the Foreign Ministry.
Likewise, Gil highlighted that “the impact of the multifaceted global crisis on the Least Developed Countries is demonstrated in the setbacks registered in the implementation of the Istanbul program and the full application of the Doha Program of Action.”
Chancellor participates in the Conference in Doha
This Sunday, March 5, the V United Nations Conference on the Least Developed Countries (LDC5) was inaugurated in the capital of Qatar, an event that will be held from March 5 to 9.
On behalf of the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, Foreign Minister Yván Gil participates in the conference that takes place at the Qatar National Convention Center, in Doha, and that brings together 46 nations, said a note from the Chancellery.
The V UN conference on Least Developed Countries (LDC) aims to assess compliance with the Sustainable Development Goals for 2030 and the setbacks of countries in the process.
In Doha, government leaders will also assess the implementation of the Istanbul Program of Action, adopted in that Turkish city in 2011, and mobilize additional international support and action for the world’s 46 least developed countries.
