Through his account on the social network X, Foreign Minister Yván Gil regretted that the current Carter Center has nothing to do with the work of its founder Jimmy Carter, and said that all the work and prestige built was “thrown in the trash” by Mrs. Jennie Lincoln, whom he described as “an employee of the State Department.”
The Venezuelan official said that Lincoln “is lying shamelessly, none of his words correspond to reality or Venezuelan law.”
The foreign minister maintains that this organization has been placed “in the plan for a coup d’état, supporting the execution of the most vile electoral crimes that we have seen in the republican era of Venezuela, committed by the fascist hordes. They will not return!” he emphasized, indicating that such an act is a “shame.”
The foreign minister also posted an image stating that the Carter Center’s statements to the AFP news agency, in which they indicate that there is “no evidence” of electoral hacking in Venezuela, are a “lie,” according to the organization’s spokesperson, Jennie Lincoln.
