Chambers of commerce agree to issue digital certificates

Given the need to have the necessary tools for the electronic billingthe Chambers of Commerce and Production of Santo Domingo and San Cristóbal signed an agreement so that the latter offers users in its province the possibility of acquiring the certificates of the qualified digital signature Digisignature through a link on your web portal.

The Santo Domingo Chamberwhich offers the service of Digisignature since 2016, explained that this type of certificate allows companies and professionals to streamline their operations, facilitating the signing of any economic or legal transaction without the need for paper or travel, in addition to being essential for the electronic billing promoted by the General Directorate of Internal Taxes (DGII).

The agreement was signed by Lucile Houellemontpresident of the Santo Domingo Chamberand Victor Montas Pimentelpresident of the San Cristobal Chamber.

Product of the alliance, the users in San Cristóbal They will be able to receive guidance on the digital signature at the Chamber of Commerce and Production of this province and will have the option of requesting the issuance of Digisignature through a link on your website, with a validity of one or two years.

  • There are three qualified digital signature profiles, the most in demand being the certificate for tax purposes, which is issued to individuals on behalf of a company and allows the issuance of an electronic invoice before the DGII. Also, Digifirma certificates for executives or collaborators of an institution (institutional or corporate profile) and for individuals without institutional ties, as detailed by the Santo Domingo Chamber in a press release.

The qualified digital signature of the Santo Domingo Chamber is covered by the Law 126-02 on Electronic Commerce, Documents and Digital Signature. This means that it has the same legal value than a handwritten signature and guarantees its admissibility before any public or private entity.
