The president of the National Chamber of Mechanical Workshops assured that poor-quality spare parts proliferate in Venezuela, of dubious origin and without any type of certificate. He points out that “it is a lie” that the prices in the informal workshops that abound in the country are lower than those of the incorporated and registered companies.
The president of the National Chamber of Mechanical Workshops (Canatame), Gino Fileri He pointed out that the enemy of the automotive sector is informality, for which he urged the population to purchase certified and original spare parts.
In interview for Union Radio, Fileri indicated that “it is a lie” that the prices in the informal workshops that proliferate in the country are lower than those of the companies constituted and registered in Canatame. He stressed that these establishments comply with all the regulations, and also offer guarantees for the work carried out, pay taxes and generate formal jobs.
He also explained that a vehicle can give a performance of between 300,000 and 500,000 kilometers, depending on the maintenance that is carried out. However, he points out that in Venezuela there is a proliferation of poor-quality spare parts, of dubious origin and without any type of certificate.
Therefore, he said that people who do not buy original spare parts do not have guarantees or security.

«In Caracas, there are mechanics on the corners changing oil and there is no authority to act. Where does that oil they change go? To the sewers… And where is the protection of the environment? Surely the police have to take action. It cannot be that a car is repaired in the street,” Fileri said.
He added that the quality of gasoline in Venezuela “is not really the problem, but the poor quality of spare parts, such as pumps. Informality is the problem », he said.
On the other hand, he mentioned that it will generate, together with the Autonomous Service for Standardization, Quality, Metrology and Technical Regulations (Sencamer), a protocol.
