Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies approved in the first reading the project that modifies Law 16-92, which establishes the Labor Code of the Dominican Republic.
The president of the Chamber of Deputies, Alfredo Pacheco, said that the piece will be given the same treatment that has been given to the Criminal Code.
Prior to its approval in the first reading, in this Thursday’s session, the labor code project was read in full and had a 125 Sies and Zero vote.

The initiative seeks to modernize the Labor Code to improve working conditions, guarantee fundamental rights and strengthen aspects such as non -discrimination, conciliation of conflicts and regulations on extra hours, suspension of contracts and licenses among other points.
