Santo Domingo.- The Chamber of Deputies approved this Wednesday two loan contracts to finance a climate action program.
The first loan was with the Inter-American Development Bank for an amount of 300 million dollarswhich will be allocated to the previously mentioned program.
This financing corresponds to the first phase of the project and is co-financed by the French Development Agency on the basis of another agreement, for the sum of 100 million dollars.
The authorization for this agreement is contemplated in article 68 of Law 80-23 of the General State Budget.

In another order, the legislators also approved, in their ordinary session, changes to Law 137-03, which deals with the Illicit Smuggling of Migrants and Human Trafficking, in order to modify articles 3 and 7 of that regulation.

The modification proposal, sent to Congress by the Executive Branch, was first approved in the Chamber of Deputies and then sent to the Senate, where it was endorsed with adjustments, which required another review by the deputies.
The main objective of this initiative is to specifically modify article 3 of the law, to provide greater protection to children and adolescents, who are especially vulnerable and frequently victims in cases of human trafficking, establishes the motivation letter presented to Congress. , by the Executive Branch.

Likewise, the document indicates that the modification also aims to reinforce the regulations regarding the prosecution of this crime, which affects both minors and adolescents.
