A call to the National Government to resume “urgently” the reactivation of state projects and those that have been suspended for many years, as well as to maintain communication with the private sector, was made on the afternoon of this Friday, May 13, by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Agriculture (CCIAP).
The president of the CCIAP, Marcela Galindo, expressed “we are here to work together. Promises must be fulfilled, although we recognize that the situation that is happening is a product of what is happening in the international market due to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, as well as China’s zero COVID policy, which has a great impact on our country. ”.
The president also stressed that “we are faithful believers that we must address the unemployment situation that exists today in the province of Colón in order to provide opportunities for its inhabitants and improve the income capacity of the Colon family.”
According to the statistical data of the Center for Economic Studies, the province of Colón represents 17% of the Gross Domestic Product at the national level, it must be taken into account that the activities in that sector have been negatively affected, which can have consequences to the country’s economy.
