The plenary of the Chamber of Deputies approved this Tuesday (15) a project that regulates the exercise of activities of physical education professionals, giving administrative and financial autonomy to federal and regional councils. The matter goes to the Senate.
In practice, the measure regulates the Federal Council of Physical Education (Confef) and the respective regional councils (Crefs). Although they already exist, these bodies were created by law on the initiative of Congress, but they are being questioned in the Federal Supreme Court on the grounds that the initiative of the law should have been the President of the Republic.
The text provides that graduates in higher technology courses linked to physical education, according to the (Confef) regulation, and recognized by the Ministry of Education, will be able to carry out the activities of the category.
In addition, the matter establishes the competences of the Federal and Regional Councils of Physical Education, the composition, the form of election, the revenues, the disciplinary infractions applicable to the subscribers and the administrative process, bringing this rule closer to others that regulate other professional councils.
