The Mayor’s Office of Chacao reported the traffic restrictions that will apply in the municipality on the occasion of the CAF Caracas 2026 Marathon, one of the most important sporting events of the year, which will be held on Sunday, February 8.
According to the statement released through their social networks, the measure seeks to guarantee “the safety of the runners and the success of the event”, which is why temporary closures will be implemented in several of the main road arteries in the jurisdiction.
With the aim of facilitating the logistics of the competition and protecting both the athletes and the attending public, the municipal authorities specified that the vehicle restriction hours will be from 6:00 am to 12:30 pm, a period during which traffic will be limited in the areas where the race will pass.
The roads that will remain closed during that period are:
•Francisco Solano Avenue
•Venezuela Avenue
•Casanova Avenue
•Libertador Avenue (direction El Rosal)
•Access to Chacaíto from the Highway
•Access to the Highway from Lazo Martí Avenue
It was reported that there will be specific access restrictions towards Francisco de Miranda Avenue, in the west direction, specifically from Petare, Sucre de Los Dos Caminos Avenue and the Principal Avenue of the Country Club, which will impact the usual circulation in these sectors during the morning of the event.
The Chacao Mayor’s Office He urged neighbors, merchants and visitors to plan their trips in advance, use alternative routes and take the necessary precautions during closing hours.
The CAF Caracas 2026 Marathon will attract thousands of runners in the distances of 42K, 21K and 10K, which is why progressive closures of different streets in the capital have been announced to ensure the safe and orderly development of the sports day.
