The Comptroller General of the Union released a note on the night of this Wednesday (23) in which it informs that it constitutes a commission to investigate two complaints of irregularities at the Ministry of Education (MEC).
“At the end of the work, the commission did not find irregularities committed by public agents, but possible irregularities committed by third parties, and suggested that the case be forwarded to the Federal Police (PF) and the Federal Public Ministry (MPF), in view of the possibility of occurrence. of crime on the occasion of the offer of an undue advantage”, says the note.
The complaints were received by CGU on August 27, 2021 and deal with possible irregularities that would be occurring in events held by the MEC and on the offering of undue advantage, by third parties, for the release of funds from the National Development Fund for Education (FNDE). The calculation of the commission took place between September 29, 2021 and March 3, 2022.
According to the note, due to new facts that were disclosed by the press in relation to the complaints investigated by the commission, the CGU decided to open a new procedure. This time, a “Preliminary Summary Investigation (IPS) was opened to investigate the new facts, in particular, the claim for third-party advantage.”
This week, articles were published in the press about an alleged favoring of the Minister of Education, Milton Ribeiro, in the release of resources from the FNDE to city halls of municipalities through the intermediation of two pastors.
In a note released to the press, Milton Ribeiro said that there was no type of favoring in the distribution of funds from the ministry. According to the minister, the allocation of federal resources follows the budget legislation.
“There is no possibility for the minister to determine the allocation of resources to favor or disadvantage any municipality or state,” the minister said in the note.
