The Sena Madureira City Hall, in Acre, was the target of an operation by the Comptroller General of the Union (CGU) and the Federal Police this Thursday (29) on suspicion of fraud in tenders and embezzlement of public resources obtained by parliamentary amendment.
The operation carried out 14 search and seizure warrants, issued by the Federal Supreme Court (STF), at addresses located in Acre and the Federal District.
Breaks of banking and tax secrecy of those investigated for association with a criminal organization, corruption, money laundering, among other crimes, were also authorized.
Overpricing at agricultural fair
The CGU identified irregularities in the hiring of artists for an agricultural fair, ExpoSena, held in September 2024.
At the time, a contract without bidding worth R$1.3 million was signed to pay for three musical shows. The investigation showed that there was an overcharge of more than R$900,000.
The investigations showed evidence of fraud in the application of funds from parliamentary amendments in the form of special transfer, known as “Pix amendments”.
Among the frauds, there is evidence that the contracted company acted as a mere intermediary, without holding the official representation of the artists, which is prohibited by law.
The city paid the amounts in full approximately two months before the scheduled date for the shows, a practice that is also prohibited. By law, the transfer must only be made after the service has been provided.
The report from National Radio, from the Brazilian Communication Company (EBC), He tried to contact the CGU, to obtain more details, and the Sena Madureira city hall. So far, there has been a response.
