The Executive Committee of a faction of the General Confederation of Labor (CGT) announced that will actively participate this November 23 in the national opposition march called against the president’s government Gustavo Petro and his social reforms.

“Corruption is the misuse, or abuse, that an official makes of his authority. It is an unwanted behavior that generates serious problems in societies and States, from political and economic crimesas arbitrary persecution of dissent and theft of public money, until the disintegration of the state apparatus,” he stated.
He said that Historically Colombia has been among the most corrupt countries in the world. “It hurts to say it but it must be said, let’s see if we begin to generate reflection in the face of a scourge like this, which in addition to generating poverty, hopelessness and misery, generates violence and an opprobrious attack on human dignity of those of us who get up day after day to honestly provide for our families,” explained the executive committee.
He stressed that we cannot forget that new generations will come who must reject these behaviors. “We must, at a minimum, denounce those who blatantly and without the slightest hint of shame, steal the future of our children,” he stated.

“We will also go out to march for the exercise of opposition or thinking differently; against the lack of a true inclusive and real social dialogue, where all the social organizations of the country come together, against unpatriotic measures against the military forces and against the rampant acts of violence and insecurity,” he stressed.
