The Governor of New LionSamuel García Sepúlveda, thanked the federal authorities headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who as part of the installation of 2,800 internet antennas, of the program Enlightening and Communicating Mexico: Internet for Everyoneeight antennas will be installed in the state that will benefit 39 communities located outside the metropolitan area of Monterrey.
“Today the president brings us an enormous challenge, but essential for the growth of the country, the Federal electricity commission (CFE), has a new task in which the state government is going to fully support: bring internet to all homes, a service that the pandemic undoubtedly came to teach us how necessary it is for all the inhabitants of Mexico ” , commented at an event held at the CFE’s Huinalá Central Substation, in Pesquería.
“Nuevo León is very grateful to the federal government, we are the second state with the highest electricity coverage with 99.9%; and we are the second state with the highest internet connectivity,” he added.
One day after the start of school year 2022-2023the state president reiterated his commitment to work together with the federation, to guarantee the internet to all the inhabitants of New Lion.

On the other hand, García Sepúlveda thanked the president for the support provided in the water projects to face the drought and the support for the works of the Suburban Train and the regiment in Cerralvo.
“I take advantage of your presence in the state, to thank on behalf of all New Lion the great support he has given us in terms of the El Cuchillo project, the Libertad Dam, the Suburban Train project; and taking advantage of the presence of the military forces, by the new regiment in Cerralvo”, mentioned Samuel García.
New subsidiary of CFE
For his part, David Pantoja, general director of the new subsidiary of CFE, Telecommunications and Internet for All, indicated that this project was conceived for more than four years and has worked on the challenge that the country’s connectivity implies.
“The main objective of this task is to bring telecommunications to the areas furthest from commercial companies, as it is not a potentially attractive market, since they argue that there is no return on investment and that an infrastructure is needed that few people will use. ”.
This program includes three projects: data transport infrastructure network with a national fiber optic network; installation of free internet points in squares and public buildings and the third is an unprecedented investment in cell phones.
There are already 8,000 kilometers of illuminated fiber and this year 8,000 more kilometers will be completed, so that by early 2023 there will be 16,000 kilometers, the data network is essential for telecommunications to exist, said the federal official.
To install access points, it requires a large deployment to reach remote places, whose access is through boats or pack animals.
“Now, with the support of federal, state and municipal authorities, we have installed 1,167 access points in Nuevo León and Tamaulipas in the most remote communities and, in general, 42,000 devices throughout the country, it is expected to reach 70,000 devices by early 2023. and at the end of the project, 140,000 pieces of equipment will be installed”, stressed David Pantoja.
