The Venezuelan Episcopal Conference (CEV) mourned the death of Pope Emeritus Benedict XVI, announced this December 31 by the Vatican, and called a Eucharistic celebration in his name for next January 7. It will be done at 9:00 a.m. the Don Bosco National Temple in Altamirain Caracas, in the framework of its next 119 Ordinary Plenary Assembly.
“Sustained by the same faith, and trusting in divine mercy, we unite inprayer for the one who, as Successor of the Apostle Peter, presided over the Church in charityUniversal, from April 19, 2005 to February 28, 2013. We invite allCatholics of Venezuela to offer the Eucharist and their prayers in suffrage for so beloved Pastor of the Church,” said the religious organization.
In the communication, also shared on social networks, they called himgo tol Pope Francis his expression of communion and solidarity in this moment of mourning ecclesial.
In this sense, they informed that they will be Eucharist in each of the local Churches of Venezuela, in addition to the aforementioned.
“EITHERwe will offer the holy ssacrifice of the Mass for this faithful servant of the Lord”, pointed out the CEV.
The Holy See announced this Saturday morning that he died at the age of 95 on Pope emeritus Benedict XVI in the Mter Ecclesiae Monastery, where he lived since his historic resignation from the pontificate in 2013.
