A study prepared by the economist Oscar Torrealba, from Cedice Libertad, indicates that to acquire the 61 items that make up the “Cesta Cedice” 69 salaries of 175 bolivars per month are required.
That price represents an increase of $2.8 compared to the measurement made between March 1 and 30. This “Cedice Basket” is assembled according to data collected in Caracas, Maracaibo and Valencia for the following divisions: food, services, recreation and leisure, perfumery and personal care, and transportation. The report notes that the average consumption in each of them was distributed, respectively, as follows: Bs 5,453.33 bolivars; Bs 3.157.33; Bs 1,007.44; Bs 1,062.23; and Bs 565.33.
“In absolute terms, in March prices increased 6.59% in national currency, while they reported an increase of 4.03% in dollars,” says Cedice.

The interannual price variation in Caracas as of March 30 was 507.76% in national currency, while in dollars it was 11.09%.
«In foreign currency, the segments that reported the most costs were services, $129.40; perfumery and personal care $43.53; recreation and entertainment $41.29; restaurants $32.17.
From the study of the Observatory of Public Expenditure it can be deduced that the Cesta Cedice costs, per month, 13,465.66 bolivars or $551.87 in Caracas; 11,876.77 bolivars or $486.38 dollars in Maracaibo. 10. 759.19 or $440.95 Valencia”.
