Spanish footballer Cesc Fabregas announced on Friday that he will leave Monaco at the end of this season, discouraged by his long string of injuries, but says he wants to continue his career.
“It is certain that between Monaco and me it is over. My contract expires in June and I am looking for a new starting point,” Fábregas assured in an interview with the French digital media Sofoot.com.
Fábregas, 35, who arrived at Monaco in 2019, points out that he has received several phone calls from some of his former coaches “to find out what I am going to do, to see if I would like to join them this summer” in the technical part.
“But this year has been so bad that I can’t finish like this, not after having built this race. I want to continue playing », assures the footballer, who recalls that after 19 years and almost 900 games in the elite he has won« practically everything ».
Winner of a World Cup and two European Championships with Spain and of all the possible titles at club level with FC Barcelona, Cesc does not give any clues as to where he could continue his career. “It’s just about finding a good project and making it happen,” he explains.
