The deputy of the Intransigent Radical Ecologist Party (PERI), César Vega, claims to have received information on alleged places where missing persons were buried during the military dictatorship (1973-1985).

“There are soldiers who talk to us for four hours almost to tell us that they are going to hand over the place where the majority of the disappeared are and they choose PERI people because they understand that there is no profit to be made from this circumstance,” Vega said on Sunday in your program Eastern Radio.

According to the legislator, the retired soldiers with whom he has had contact “are not going to say anything at all” about who the perpetrators of these murders are, but “they will mark the place where they are buried, because they were participating in that event”. By “event”, Vega refers to the fact of burying these people who were victims of state terrorism.

César Vega says he has informants

“On the 50th anniversary of the beginning of the dictatorship, we had a four-hour meeting with the military who are in a position to point out where the largest burials of what we call the disappeared are, who are neither more nor less than tortured and dead. The president —I did not expect anything else— told me to proceed, so in the next few days there will be news for all of you, in the sense of pointing out the place, ”Vega expanded in a radio interview fourteen 10.

His informants, he continued, decided to contact him because “we are the party in Parliament that is not a member of the government coalition or the largest opposition coalition,” citing his supposed political independence.

“The only thing that will be done is indicate the place to proceed (to search for remains) and that is how we stay with the president, that things must be like that, that it must be done that way and it will be done,” said the president. legislator consulted by Montevideo Portal. “If they talked to me, it is because they trusted me to go directly to the president,” she remarked.

“At this moment it will remain in the hands of the Minister of Defense, as is logical, and he will speak with the commanders and it will proceed. I have nothing more to say, ”he concluded, inferring that all the information he supposedly received is in the hands of the Ministry of Defense.
