The chancellor Cesar Landa will hold a meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican City during his visit to Europe that began on October 12, replacing the President of the Republic, Pedro Castillo.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the meeting between the Supreme Pontiff and the representative of the Peruvian Government will be on Monday, October 17, during the work trip he has been making to Belgium, France, Italy and Mexico, in addition to the Vatican.
Landa makes this international tour after receiving authorization from the Peruvian Government until October 21 and thus cover the agenda of meetings that Castillo Terrones was going to have outside the country in the coming days.
However, the president did not receive authorization to leave the country by the full Congress, which ruled against this permission with 54 votes in favor, 55 against and 6 abstentions.
César Landa is currently visiting Brussels, Belgium, to sign collaboration devices with the High Representative of the European Union, Josep Borrell.
