César Hildebrandt on the transport strike: “This Government neither negotiates nor explains”

He transporters strike has managed to stop Lima and some regions of the country, despite this the Executive has ignored the collective claim and ignores the demands of the transport unions. One of these requests is the repeal of the Law 32130also known as law against organized crime.

The carriers have been clear. They expect the annulment of said rule, however, Congress has only proposed its modification. In fact, Peru Libre and other parties have made it clear that they will not back down with this law.

“What they ask for is dialogue and consequences of dialogue. That is, agreements with the Government. Effective agreements: schedules, promises, accuracy. That is, basic democratic courtesy. We are in a severe disagreement, so we have to negotiate, but “This Government neither negotiates nor explains nor has any legitimacy.”

“But they will make them negotiate because this gets even more difficult and because the claim is fair and indisputable,” he added.

Transporters and their request to Congress

Various leaders presented their demands to the PCM, in order to find a solution to the wave of extortion and crimes of which they are victims in their daily work.

If there is political will, we want to listen to you. Let them commit once and for all to repeal Law 32108 and archive what President Dina Boluarte has said about the urban terrorism law. We want to listen to them and have this brought to the plenary session once and for all,” he said.

In his turn,Miguel Angel Palominopresident of theNational Confederation of Transporters and Drivers of Perualso criticized the existence of law 32108.
