The governor of La Libertad and president of the political party Alianza Para el Progreso (APP), Cesar Acunaasked Congress and the Executive to “stop postponing” the debate on the urban terrorism law, in view of the citizen demands expressed in the streets in recent days due to the increase in merchants and transporters who are victims of extortion.

“As president of Alianza Para el Progreso, I demand that Congress and the Executive stop postponing the debate on citizen security, urban terrorism and organized crime. We cannot tolerate more indifference while crime continues to subjugate the country,” he published on his account. x.
Acuña speaks out this Sunday, October 13, despite the fact that the most critical mobilizations occurred days ago, because he was on vacation leave for 10 days, at a time when his region, whose provinces were declared in emergency in more than once by the Government, faced a high crime rate.

His vacation period was from Friday, October 4 to today, Sunday the 13th. However, this was not the first license requested and accepted by the regional council in favor of Acuña. He had already gone on vacation from May 24 to June 1, and from July 28 to August 8. He also took a work trip to China in April, for which he was absent for 11 days.
So far, Acuña has accumulated 42 days absent from his position, but he needs to take even more vacation days. According to the approved schedule, from November 11 to 19 there will also be an absence, the last of the year.
