The best thing that the Congress of the Republic did was vacate President Pedro Castillo after a failed coup attempt, said the elected regional governor of La Libertad and leader of the Alliance for Progress (APP), César Acuña Peralta. “Time will prove us right and I reaffirm that the best thing they (Congress) have done was vacation a president that has shown many indications of corruption.”
Acuña Peralta also referred to the protests by the population, who are asking for the resignation of Dina Boluarte, who assumed the presidency of the Republic. “I am very confident that in time the population will understand what best happened to the country (referring to the vacancy),” he pointed out.
“for corrupt”
“President Pedro Castillo knew that he was going to jail for acts of corruption and he knew that on Wednesday afternoon, December 7, he was going to be vacated,” said the governor-elect of the La Libertad region, Cesar Acuna Peralta.
“What he has done is saved himself, because he was going to go to the jail for being corrupt and now it happens as if it has gone against the Political Constitution of Peru, for carrying out a coup”, he mentioned.
