Cesar Acuna He asked the Congress of the Republic to put aside the motions of interpellation, censure and vacancy, focusing on issues that benefit the country, within the framework of the investigation into President Dina Boluarte.
According to Acuña, his party will not support these initiatives, reaffirming its position as a “sensible” group that prioritizes stability.
“I ask Congress that, instead of dedicating themselves to censorship, questioning or thinking about the vacancy, they dedicate themselves to legislating on issues that correspond to Peru, such as security. […] If there are no legal tools, there is no investment. Let them legislate on the economic issue as well,” said the APP leader.
The regional governor of La Libertad warned about the social and political costs of a possible vacancy or censure. Furthermore, he believed that the congressmen who promote these measures seek media attention. “The only way to get out in the media is to say about censorship and interpellation. In a single word: don’t waste time,” he stressed.

Finally, in relation to the recent surgical operation of President Dina Boluarte, Acuña asked for patience and to wait for the facts to be clarified.
“Unfortunately, politics is done here in bad ways. Everything is criticized, everything is done wrong and that is not right,” he said.
