The Electoral Court (TE) reported that personal identity cards for people over 70 years of age who request renewal of the document will be valid for 30 years.
According to the entity, the measure was applied so that these people, being older adults, do not have to go to the TE offices.
In the norm that regulates this matter, the validity of 15 years is established for the identification cards for adults and a validity of 10 years for the permanent residence cards of foreigners.
Gilberto Estrada, director of Registration, recalled that all regulations are based on Decree No. 4 of March 5, 2021.
