The commander of the Police, General Víctor Zanabria, assured that his entity “yes” gave authorization to the former presidential driver, non-commissioned officer Félix Montalvo, to testify, this morning, in the Oversight Commission, about the escape of the leader of Peru Libre , Vladimir Cerrón.
“His participation here has been authorized, authorization has been granted,” Zanabria said.
For his part, Montalvo’s lawyer, Jesús Poma, confirmed to Perú21 what he had indicated, in the morning, that the Police did not grant permission to his client to attend the Inspection.
According to Poma, what the police command gave him was a “certificate of knowledge” or notification of the delivery of the letter from the Oversight Commission so that he could testify.
The president of the Oversight Commission, Juan Burgos, pointed out that if, this Thursday, the Plenary of Congress grants the powers of the investigative commission to his group, they would summon Montalvo by rank or force.
On the other hand, the head of Congress, Eduardo Salhuana, assured Perú21, in a press conference, that the request for special powers of the investigative commission, for the Oversight Commission, will be voted on in the Plenary this Thursday.
The head of state will have to answer if she spent the night of February 24 in the Mikonos condominium, where, according to the Police, the fugitive from justice Vladimir Cerrón was hidden.
If they receive the support of the Plenary to become an investigative commission, Burgos indicated that they will request permission to go to the Government Palace next week to take their demonstration.
