At the Ka’arendy stadium, the 15th matchday of the Closing Tournament began this Wednesday, where General Caballero de Juan León Mallorquín and Guaireña FC did not go beyond a 0-0 draw.
In a direct bid between two teams that fight for the annual cumulative in search of a qualification for the Copa Sudamericana 2023, as well as for not falling to the relegation zone in the averages, everything came together towards a blank equality.
The Albicelestes were the ones who had the best opportunities to open the scoring, both chances at the feet of Feliciano Brizuela. However, despite going hand-in-hand with local goalkeeper Juanito Alfonso on both occasions, the striker was unable to resolve them in a good way.
The meeting ended with a final incident: Milton Maciel, at 90 + 1 ‘, saw the red card for an infraction that was reviewed through the VAR. For this reason, the Villarrica team finished the match with 10 players.
Thus, Guaireña climbed to 19 points in the Clausura, although he missed a good chance to beat Sol de América -at least temporarily- in the last place of Sudamericana in the year’s total. Likewise, it maintains a good margin over the downward positions in percentages.
General Caballero, for his part, now accumulates 15 units in the current contest and for now remains outside the red zone in terms of losing category, but in turn missed the opportunity to get closer in the fight to qualify, cumulatively, to the continental competition.
