“Controlled emergency: the five injured people were treated by Metropolitan SAMU (Emergency Medical Care Service) personnel,” Firefighters said through their Twitter account.

The events occurred when a group of fans climbed the metal structure where the advertising is located in one of the stands of the ‘Albo’ stadium, in Santiago, and it collapsed on the stands due to the additional weight.

In the area where he fell there were hundreds of people cheering on the “Cacique” in one of the last training sessions prior to the league match that this Sunday faces the current four-time champion of the local league, Universidad Católica.

“We have said it repeatedly, in campaigns, in everything: that people behave. To be insisting all the time on that is tiring and they still don’t do it. We need all the games to be there, ”said the Colo-Colo center-back, the Uruguayan Maximiliano Falcón, through the club’s Twitter.

There were at least 20,000 people in the stadium in this custom known as “arengazo”, where fans come to cheer during the last training session before the match.

Colo-Colo is the leader of the Chilean championship with an 11-point advantage over his main pursuers, Curicó Unido and Ñublense, with five rounds to go.

In the event that Colo-Colo wins its match against Católica and Curicó Unido and Ñublense lose their respective matches against La Serena and O’Higgins, respectively, ‘el Cacique’ will be proclaimed champion of the tournament.
