The proposal of the Departmental Council of Lima of the College of Engineers of Peru (CIP-CD Lima) for the Central Roadwhich includes a route through La Chutana, would save time and resources, and is a “landscape” initiative, assured the dean of the institution, Roque Benavides.
“We consider that it is the cheapest, shortest and most viable proposal. From a geological point of view it is the safest,” he said. Regarding the time it would take to complete, he pointed out that it will take less than the 10 years that the line called Green Corridor would take, which would go from Lima to Pachachaca (Junín) and would cross part of Cieneguilla.
Likewise, he said that as soon as they are summoned by the Minister of Transport and Communications, Paola Lazarte, they will attend to present their proposal so that the best decision is made.
“Do not think that the College of Engineers has not made an appointment before, what happens is the predecessors of the current Minister of Transport did not answer us and that is unfortunate because we really have a lot to contribute,” he said.
On the other hand, he pointed out that Peru lacks infrastructure, for which reason he stressed that if you want to achieve competitiveness, it is necessary to invest in the gap that exists.
