Central Córdoba of Santiago del Estero beat the recently promoted Barracas Central at home this Thursday night, 3 to 1, in a clash of the first day of the Professional Soccer League Cup.

The goals of the deserved victory from Santiago they were Renzo López (4m PT), Pablo Argañaraz (40m ST) and Alejandro Martínez (48m ST); for the porteños discounted Neri Bandiera (44m ST).

It was a historic match: Barracas Central in the first division of Argentine soccer. His last appearance was in amateurism, on April 12, 1931, with a 3-0 victory over Argentino de Banfield (two goals from Raúl Estevarena and one from Héctor Sosa).

But the return did not start well: Central Córdoba took advantage very quickly, at 4m, with a great header by Renzo López, after a corner by Ramírez, which Saracho managed to touch but not deflect. The ball hit the post and went into the net for 1-0.

The local justified the difference in the subsequent development, especially for the task of their forwards, who with mobility and dynamics were an insoluble problem for the defense of the Buenos Aires.

With less possession, Central Córdoba was more direct and effective and generated several situations to widen the difference: Martínez had it in an advance against a bad start from Saracho, Soraire had it with a header just off target. It couldn’t be, but he didn’t need it to reach halftime with a partial victory.

Except for some appearances by Mouche and Valenzuela, Rodolfo De Paoli’s men had no ideas to find equality.

Barracas equalized at the beginning of the complement and approached twice: first with an individual maneuver by Valenzuela, which he defined with a very wide shot; and the second, very clear, with a center from the left by Mouche that Castro and the admitted Romero could not connect in the area, without marks.

But after 10 minutes, Central Córdoba (despite the fact that Grahl never had any weight in the game) returned to find the match that best suited him and created new scoring chances. Saracho resolved well against a low left-footed shot from Martínez and Pereyra missed it with a shot that grazed the left post.

Then the party went into a slope. As if it were the cost of an exhausting day (the temperature in Santiago del Estero reached 40 degrees), the teams lost individual and collective clarity and there were almost no risk plays in front of the goals.

Emotions came over the end: at 40m the locals caught their rival badly, who was “played” in search of a tie, and Argañaraz took advantage of a short clearance by Saracho to make it 2-0; at 44m Bandiera discounted and ignited the visiting illusion; and at 48m Martínez stretched the advantage again, the final 3 to 1.

A) Yes Central Córdoba took three gold points against a rival who, it is presumed, will also fight for permanence.

On the next date, the second, Central Córdoba will go to the Tigre field (Wednesday from 5:00 p.m.) and Barracas Central will once again be a visitor, this time against Lanús (Tuesday from 9:30 p.m.).
