The government bodies that work to combat illegal mining in Yanomami lands will meet at a Command and Control Center set up this Thursday (9) in Boa Vista. The space works at the Superintendence of the Federal Police (PF) in Roraima.
Representatives of the PF, the National Security Force, the Ministry of Defense, the National Foundation for Indigenous Peoples (Funai) and the Brazilian Institute for the Environment and Renewable Natural Resources (Ibama) will use the center to jointly plan the actions of Operation Liberation.
The first phase of the integrated action, which began this week, is focused on dismantling the logistics that supply illegal mining on Yanomami lands and protecting the indigenous people.
Operation Liberation will continue “until legality is restored in the Yanomami Indigenous Land,” said a note released by the PF.
