Center affirms transparent management of public funds

The National Center for the Development and Promotion of Non-Profit Associations (CASFL) of the Ministry of Economy, Planning and Development said that it works to promote and promote the integration of NPOs in the management of public policies for national development and encourage the institutionality and transparency in the management of public funds.

This was specified by the executive director of the CASFL, Vielka Polanco, who reported that currently, the National Registry of Qualification, which is kept by the Center for the Promotion of ASFL, has 6,782 non-profit associations, of which 2,757 benefit are active, that is, in full compliance with their administrative and fiscal obligations. He explained that of the registered, active organizations that meet the requirements established in Law 122-05 for access to funds from the National Budget, in 2021, only 1,388 submitted a grant application within the period established for the call for funds (72 days, from May 5 to July 15) and 67% (941) of them were favored.

He stated that the CASFL works to guide the NPOs in the formulation of projects with the aim of being subsidized, so that they are aligned with the National Development Strategy, the Sustainable Development Goals, as well as with the social priorities established by the Government. The executive director of the CASFL indicated that “we are committed to converting this mechanism of access to public funds into a development instrument, which contributes to strengthening the management of the sectoral ones.” “All organizations that submit a subsidy request charged to the General State Budget are objectively evaluated in accordance with the provisions of Law 122-05, its application regulation 40-08 and other regulations in force, she pointed out.
