The Documentation and Social Analysis Center of the Venezuelan Federation of Teachers (Cendas-FVM) reported this Friday, December 20, that the family food basket (CAF) for November 2024 stood at $493.28; equivalent to about 24,663.87 bolivars.
According to Cendas, this basket of 60 products had an increase in bolivars of 3.8% compared to the month of October, while in dollars a decrease of 46.52 was evident; 8.6% less than in the tenth month of the year, since there was a figure of 539 dollars; This is taking into account that the minimum wage has been stagnant at 130 bolivars since March 2022, although the Maduro administration has made announcements about increases in the “integral minimum income”, that is, the salary bonus.
The accumulated variation of the family food basket in 2024, that is, from January to November, stood at 22% and the annualized variation, from November 2023 to November 2024, is 27.7%.

On the other hand, a family needed 16.44 dollars a day to purchase the basket of products or about 822.12 bolivars; which is equivalent to 189.72 minimum wages.
Cendas indicated that the item with the greatest price variation in November of this year was sugar and salt, with 44.50%, followed by sauces and mayonnaise (7.43%), coffee (5.01% ), meat and its preparations (4.04%), cereals and derived products (3.98%), fats and oils (3.51%).
For OctoberCendas estimated the basic family basket at 23,750.87 bolivars, or the equivalent of 539.79 dollars.
According to the organization, that month showed an increase of 2.7% -622.37 bolivars- compared to September, when it closed at 531.57 dollars or 23,128.50 bolivars. That is, 622.37 bolivars more from one month to the next. If it refers to dollars, it had an increase of 8.23.
