Orbelín Pineda, transferred from Celta to AEK
He Celta Vigo reported this Saturday that it has reached an agreement with the AEK Athens for the transfer of the Mexican international Orbelin Pineda to the Hellenic group, where he already played last year on loan.
The footballer signed for Celta in January 2022 after ending his contract with Cruz Azul. However, with Eduardo ‘Chacho’ Coudet as coach, Orbelín Pineda hardly had continuity and closed the course with 93 minutes played in LaLiga.
In its press release, the Galician entity wishes Orbelín “much success” in this new sporting stage, and thanks him for his “exemplary behavior, professionalism and dedication” during his stay at the Vigo team.
AEK Athens, for its part, points out on its website that the incorporation of Orbelín is “the biggest signing in its history”, since the Mexican was chosen MVP of the Greek Super League 2022-23.
