The Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, announced, on Friday afternoon (26), the departure of the command of the portfolio. The announcement was made at Planalto Palace, after a conversation between him and President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.
On September 18, União Brasil, Sabino’s party, announced the landing of Lula’s support base and gave a 24 hours for your affiliates to leave the positions or commissioned functions in the federal government.
“I had a conversation today with the President of the Republic, due to the decision that the party I am affiliated to make, to leave the government, and I came here today to fulfill my role,” he told the press. “I handed the president my letter and my request to depart from the Ministry of Tourism, fulfilling the decision of my party,” he added.
He said he will still fulfill an agenda as minister, alongside Lula. Both will be in Belém, next Friday (3) to open works for the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will take place in the city in November.
“The president asked me to accompany the works that should be delivered of the works that will happen next Thursday in the city of Belém. I go as minister yet.” Sabino assumed as minister in July 2023 and will definitely leave the position after this commitment.

Asked about the possibility of leaving the party to continue in government, Sabino said that “he believes in dialogue” and that “public men who are committed to the Brazilian nation will work together for the good of the country.”
“My desire is clear, it is to continue the work we have been doing and we have a job of dialogue maintained and today the president waved with this possibility of expanding this dialogue with the União Brasil party so we can see what the scenes of the next chapter will be like,” said Sabino.
In addition to União Brasil, another party that left the government was the PP. The PP affiliate in the first level of the government is André Fufuca, ahead of the Ministry of Sports. There is no confirmation of a fufuca output yet.
