Celebrate Africa Day with cultural and diplomatic activities

With different cultural and diplomatic activities, they celebrated World Africa Day this Thursday, decreed with the aim of giving know the needs that continue to be faced by all the countries of the continent.

First, a floral offering was made before the Mausoleum of the Liberator Simón Bolívar, in the National Pantheon of Caracas; day led by the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Yván Gil, and the African diplomatic corps accredited in the country.

Through his account on the social network Twitter, Gil stated that with this act “we reaffirm our commitment to the brotherhood between nations.”

“Together with the African Diplomatic Corps accredited to the country, we honor the celebration of #AfricaDay and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Organization of African Unity at the National Pantheon. With this act we reaffirm our commitment to the brotherhood between nations, ”he wrote on the social network.

Subsequently, the Venezuelan foreign minister highlighted the cooperation and friendship ties that the 55 countries of Mother Africa have with Venezuela.

“Today we celebrate the day of the African Union and our country, since the presidency of Commander Hugo Chávez in 1999 and now with President Nicolás Maduro, we have made agreements and advanced cooperation work. Venezuela has relations with the 55 countries of Mother Africa,” said Gil, quoted in an official press release.

Similarly, he stated that Africa is an extremely rich continent, in all areas, and asserted that it has great contributions to make for the creation of a multipolar world.

For his part, the dean of the Diplomatic Corps accredited in Caracas and ambassador of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Olorundare Phillip Awoniyi, highlighted the example and leadership of Venezuela in the struggle of the peoples of the world.

“Venezuela has an important diplomatic presence throughout the African continent. The struggle of Venezuela is a struggle of the peoples of Africa and the success of Venezuela is the success of Africa, South America and all of Latin America”; he stressed her.

The Russian ambassador to Venezuela, Serguei Bagdasarov, also participated in the event, who highlighted the role of South-South Cooperation on the international agenda.

“Today we have the South-South Cooperation that has more space on the international agenda, because the past of colonialism, slavery is a sad page in the history of humanity,” he pointed out in statements broadcast by Venezolana de Televisión.

Concert Venezuela sings to Africa

Similarly, this Thursday, the concert “Venezuela sings to Africa” ​​by the Aldemaro Romero Mixed Orchestra was presented at the Center for Social Action for Music in Caracas, under the direction of Carlos Alexis Escalona, ​​from the National System of Children’s and Youth Orchestras and Choirs of Venezuela.

At the beginning of the concert, Jesús Suárez Chourio, president of the Parliamentary Friendship Group Venezuela – Pan-African Parliament of the National Assembly, participated as a keynote speaker.

Likewise, the words of the Chancellor of the Republic, Yván Gil, as well as those of the Algerian Ambassador, Abdelkader Hadjazi, were heard.
