The pro tempore president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) and president of Honduras, Xiomara Castro, urgently called an extraordinary meeting of Presidents and Heads of State that make up the multilateral bloc for next January 30, to 11:00 am in Honduras.
In another point it is stated that the points to be discussed at the meeting will be migration, the environment and Latin American and Caribbean unity.
In the communication he states that the president of Colombia, Gustavo Petro confirmed his attendance in Tegucigalpa, capital of Honduras.
The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (Celac) is a mechanism for regional consultation and integration created on December 3, 2011, in response to the need to make efforts between the States of Latin America and the Caribbean in order to advance the unity and political, economic, social and cultural integration; increase social well-being, quality of life, economic growth of the region, and promote independent and sustainable development.
