Cecilia Valenzuelathe director of Peru21questioned the recent designation of Juan Manuel Cavero as Minister of Justice, after the resignation of Juan José Santiváñez.
In that sense, the journalist said the appointment reflects a recidivism in the errors of the Government of Dina Boluarte.
“It is really serious to see how the Boluarte Government recounts in the errors. He appoints a justice minister to Mr. Santiváñez. He has been his chief of advisors until today and is a person who has problems in his background,” he warned in Channel N.
In addition, Cecilia recalled that Cavero had already left a position at the Ministry of Transportation and Communications (MTC), where he held the road safety headquarters, amid questions.
“He was the head of road safety and suddenly it is discovered that they were getting even the blind. Here there is something very serious and serious,” he said.
He also criticized the lack of independence of President Dina Boluarte in the election of her officials. “How is it possible that Mrs. Boluarte is not able to seek advice on other counselors? Does what Mr. Santiváñez tells him,” he questioned.
“Martín Vizcarra could be the punishing vote”
At another time, Cecilia Valenzuela spoke about the electoral contest, stating that Martín Vizcarra could obtain the vote of the population that feels rejection of a certain political sector.
“It could end up being the vote of rejection, the punishing vote. It can be, as happened with (Pedro) Castillo. Castillo was the punishing vote of 2021, which, among other things, was the fault of Martín Vizcarra,” he said.
On Keiko Fujimori, he said he has lost popularity due to the support of Popular Force, his party, to the Government of Dina Boluarte.
“First, the alliance with the current government. On the other hand, the image of someone who postulates several times, reaches the second round and loses. He puts it in a position of the politician who disappoints”
Finally, he pointed out that Rafael López Aliaga, who heads the vote preferences list, is “a favorite not so favorite.”
