Presidential adviser Cecilia Nicolini joined the Secretary of Climate Change in the orbit of Minister of Environment and Sustainable Developmentwhere he will support the portfolio holder, Juan Cabandié, official sources informed Télam.
“Today @cecilianicolini joins the @AmbienteNacion team. We have the enormous task ahead of us to continue working on climate change mitigation and adaptation,” Cabandié said on his Twitter account.
In the same network, the presidential spokesperson, Gabriela Cerruti, indicated that “we count on your enormous capacity, commitment and training to lead the Secretariat for Climate Change, Sustainable Development and innovation. They are central policies of the @alferdez government.”
The decision was made by President Alberto Fernández, whom Nicolini accompanied on his international tour of Russia, China and Barbados, which ended on Tuesday.

Nicolini was appointed presidential adviser on December 10, 2019 -with an office in the Casa Rosada- and, among his main tasks, was the negotiation with the Sovereign Fund of Russia so that the Sputnik vaccine reached the beginning of the strategic vaccination plan in Argentina.
The appointed Secretary of Climate Change – her full name is María Cecilia Nicolini – is Political Science graduate and researcher at Harvard University and MIT.
