“Today the Integrated Transportation System mobilizes close to 7 million people a day, our goal is that by the end of the six-year term we will be able to mobilize 10 million people,” he noted.

“We are going to increase the Ciclovía so that bicycles can circulate there, we are already increasing it, and it has already been signed, it is part of the 100 days that our head of Government is going to have to announce, the contract to increase the number of cycle stations” , he highlighted.
Improves mobility in the Valley of Mexico
According to a study published by Inegi, during November 2024, a significant increase in the use of public transportation was recorded in the Metropolitan Zone of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM). In particular, the Light Train (Xochimilco -Tasqueña) stood out with an annual increase in 41.5% in its number of users, compared to the same month in 2023.
The report, released on Thursday, January 16, details that the urban transportation systems that operate in the ZMVM – including the 16 municipalities of Mexico City and several municipalities of the State of Mexico – served a total of 179.7 million passengers in November 2024a figure that represents a growth of 7.9% compared to the same period of the previous year.
He Light Rail was the system with the largest percentage increase in passengers, going from 2.2 million users in November 2023 to 3 million in 2024a historic increase that reflects the improvement in its service and infrastructure.
In second place was the Trolleybuswhich experienced an increase in 15.6% going from 7.6 million users in November 2023 to 8.8 million in 2024.
The study also indicates growth in other urban transportation systems such as the Metro, Metrobús and Mexibús, although with more moderate increases.
The general rebound is attributed to the combination of improvements in the service offering, such as the incorporation of new units and route expansions.
