After obtaining search warrants and communications interception orders from a control judge, the investigating agents arrested Roberto ‘N’, who worked in the area of citizen attention; Alma Karen ‘N’, employee of the direction of legal affairs, control and orientation; Guadalupe ‘N’, head of the departmental unit for the registration of resolutions and analysis, as well as Gerardo ‘N’, in charge of information technology, all active public servants of the Civil Registry.
“These people had the power to operate the computer system and the printing of official documentation and face charges for the crimes of forgery of documents, illegal exercise of public service and criminal association,” he said.
Within the proceedings carried out by the Capital Prosecutor’s Office, Francisco ‘N’, owner of a stationery store located next to the Civil Registry, from where the printing or alteration of documents was managed, as well as Beatriz ‘N’, a former official of the Civil Registry, were also arrested. Due to the investigations, homes located in Iztapalapa, Coyoacán and the Doctores neighborhood in the Cuauhtémoc mayor’s office related to this network of influence peddling were also searched, where material was found for printing and altering documents such as passports, academic titles, INE credentials, among others.
