Among the cultural offerings of the capital is the Philharmonic Orchestra of Mexico City, as well as renowned groups and artists such as Caifanes, Cecilia Toussaint and Los de Abajo.
“From Tepito to the dream of a Sunday afternoon in the Alameda Central, and from the Philharmonic orchestra of Mexico City to Caifanes, the Cervantina party belongs to all of Mexico,” he said.
He said that the public at the Cervantino will be able to discover the atmosphere of the famous Salón Los Ángeles with the Sonora Santanera and the Danzonera Acerina.
Sonideros from different municipalities will also put an atmosphere in the streets and public spaces of Guanajuato capital.
“We are going to have wrestling shows and movie shows that have had Mexico City as their setting and essence, such as ‘Los Olvidados’ by Luis Buñuel, ‘Lagunilla, mi barrio’ by Raúl Araiza, ‘Amores Perros’ by Alejandro González Iñárritu and ‘Roma’ by Alfonso Cuarón”, he explained.
The Teatro de Ciertos Inhabitants company will celebrate its 25th anniversary with a special play and Seña y Verbo (theater for the deaf) will stage Sor Juana Inés de la Cruz’s “First Dream” in sign language.
“Our city will be represented by our best exponents in the performing arts, cinema, academic conferences, exhibitions and special actions that will reflect a little bit of our day to day life in our great metropolis,” said the capital’s president.
