CDMX prepares security operation for Buen Fin and November 20 parade

Pablo Vázquez Camacho, Secretary of Citizen Security, explained in a press conference that the deployment of uniformed personnel will begin at 6:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 13 and will conclude on Monday, November 17 at midnight, as it is a long weekend.

He added that surveillance will be reinforced in shopping centers, self-service chains, department stores and corridors selling electronic items, furniture, among other products. As well as in public transport units, Metro, Metrobús, RTP, Trolleybus and concessioned transport to avoid robberies with and without violence.

“16,000 police colleagues, who will be supported by 780 units, 40 motorcycles, five cranes and the overflights, of course, of the helicopters of the Cóndores group, in the areas of greatest affluence,” he stated.

For her part, prosecutor Bertha María Alcalde said that the agency’s intelligence department and the cybercrime department of the Mexico City police already maintain alerts to receive complaints about cybercrimes, identity theft or data theft before, during or after purchases by El Buen Fin.

The capital authorities also announced that on Thursday, November 20, 3,000 police officers will be deployed from the historic center to Campo Marte, to guarantee the safety of the thousands of attendees at the traditional parade for the anniversary of the Mexican Revolution.

Of the total number of uniformed personnel, 800 are Transit personnel, who will support the maintenance of nearby streets.
