This is how the distribution for the mayors is
In the expenditure budget of Mexico City, the Secretariat of Administration and Finance allocated a global amount of 53,582.3 million pesos for the 16 municipalities.
Iztapalapa, due to its population and territorial density, will receive the largest budget allocation, with 7,230.9 million pesos. However, this figure is far from the 15% increase requested by Mayor Aleida Alavez before the local Congress.
Gustavo A. Madero, the second most populated mayor’s office, will have a budget of 5,897.2 million pesos, which also does not meet the 18% increase requested before legislators by its owner, Janecarlo Lozano.
For his part, the mayor of Miguel Hidalgo, Mauricio Tabe, requested a 30% increase in his budget for 2025 in November, but only 3,002.0 million pesos were assigned.
The mayor of Álvaro Obregón, Javier López Casarín, requested last November a budget increase of 11% for 2025. Before deputies, the head of the district justified this increase by the implementation of his AO-360 security program. Of the 4,030 million that he initially requested, only 3,950 million were assigned.
The winning mayors
Azcapotzalco will receive a total of 2,457.9 million pesos, more than what was requested by its owner, Nancy Núñez. The mayor had requested a 5% budget increase, but the capital government approved a general increase of 8.8%, which ended up benefiting the district.
