As part of the plan, a collaboration agreement was signed between the city government, the mayors and the neighbors, and the Guardians program of the Barrancas will be launched, whose members will monitor the good use of these areas. In addition, a telephone line will open to receive citizen complaints related to pollution, invasions or bad practices in the ravines.
According to the Plan, to the Ministry of the Environment (Sedema) will intervene seven ravines (203 hectares), the Secretariat of Integral Water Management (Seven), three (200 hectares), and the Secretariat and of Works and Services (Sobse), three ravines (317 hectares).
While Álvaro Obregón will be in charge of five ravines with 143 hectares; Cuajimalpa, five, with 50 hectares; La Magdalena Contreras, two, with 35 hectares, and Tlalpan, a 22 -hectare ravine.
The strategy includes the total cleaning of the ravines before December 31, 2025 and the restoration of 500 hectares in a first stage; It contemplates water sanitation, revegetation, invasion control, discharge treatment, citizen surveillance and environmental awareness generation.
