Neighbors of Tlalpan denounce arbitrary detention

Residents of Tlalpan published a letter through social networks in which they requested the Secretary of Citizen Security, Omar García Harfuch, and the Head of Government Claudia Sheinbaum the release of Jesús Antonio Contreras and Antonio Miguel Guzmán, arrested last Tuesday during the operation which culminated in a shootout at an abandoned restaurant.

In an interview, Alejandra Lozada, a resident of Tlalpan, explained that her brother-in-law Jesús Antonio Contreras is dedicated to training dogs on land that adjoins the abandoned restaurant where the confrontation between alleged members of a criminal group from Sinaloa and capital policemen occurred. However, on the day of the events, this person and his assistant were arrested and transferred to the local Prosecutor’s Office.

“On Tuesday we did not find him and it was until we saw his photos in the media, at the conference of Secretary of Security Omar García Harfuch, that we realized that they were together with the other detainees, we came to the prosecutor’s office and they told us that indeed I was here but they don’t give us an answer,” he explained.

Alejandra Lozada said she was concerned because 30 dogs that are in the dog school have not been able to be fed since the day of the operation, because the Prosecutor’s Office does not allow access to the area.
