More resources for priority projects
Mobility
The Expenditure Budget ruling contemplates a record investment of 23,000 million pesos for the Metrowhich translates into an increase of 11.9% in real terms and already considering annual inflation.
Among the priority works in the Metro is the modernization of lines 3 and A, the improvement of the tracks of line B, as well as maintenance of escalators, elevators and stations.
In addition, they will be allocated 6,951 million pesos for mobility and electromobility projectssuch as the construction of three new Cablebús lines; the “zero” line of the Metrobús through the Interior Circuit, the modernization of public transport and the scrapping of minibuses.
In terms of social infrastructure, resources will be allocated next year for the construction of the first 16 UTOPÍAS, the floating road in Tlalpan and the Caminos de Mujeres Seguras, focused on improving roads and lighting for public safety.
Water, Security and Tourism
The 2025 Budget in CDMX will also allocate 15,000 million pesos to the new Water Management Secretariat of Mexico City, formerly the Water System. One of the projects is the “injection” of thousands of liters of water into the subsoil, with the aim of maintaining the water balance in the city.
On security, there will be a significant increase in resources for the C5, including 600 million pesos for cameras and surveillance systemsfacing the 2026 Soccer World Cup.
The Ministry of Tourism will also be reinforced, linking infrastructure works with the promotion of the sector, in preparation for this international sporting event.
Increase in Social Welfare
In social programs, investment will reach an increase of 12.7%, going from 15,085.9 million in 2024 to 17,000 million pesos in 2025. Four new programs and an expansion of existing ones will also be created.
In terms of education, the economic package increases the budget for schools by 212% for the renovation of campuses and 9,000 million pesos are allocated to housing, which represents an increase of 90% compared to the previous year.
