CDMX authorities relocate space 420 that was in Metro Hidalgo

“That the spaces that have are free spaces, free of exchange, only that it is consumption (…) and thus respect the right of all and all those who consume but also of those who travel through these spaces,” said the official before media.

In the new space there will be the presence of the Ministry of Citizen Security (SSC) and the Government Secretariat, at least initially.

“But we do not want them to be permanent, we want that after a while we need to be taking care of them because there is responsibility on the part of the organizers themselves,” said the secretary.

A module of the Institute for the Attention and Prevention of Addictions (IAPA) will also be installed, said the head of the agency, Amaya Ordorika Imaz.

Cravioto headed the relocation of the space in CDMX.

“We are going to be accompanying with presence, an informative table where we present the health services we offer in the field of psychoactive substances, about how to recognize if my consumption can already be traveling to problematic consumption, information on risks and damage associated with cannabis consumption and strategies to reduce them,” said the official.

IAPA will also provide information on the procedure before the Federal Commission for Protection against Health Risks (Cofepris) for the application for consumption authorization, explained the head of the IAPA.

The space was free of substance exchange.

In addition to planting 420 in the corner of the information, the city government authorities have already removed the points that were in Juárez Avenue, in front of the Memory and Tolerance Museum, as well as the one located in the Take of Light.

These were relocated to the Plaza de la Conchita in the Historic Center and in a park on Interior Circuit Avenue, said the Secretary of Government.

“It will be more controlled, we ask that the groups and especially what we care most is that these practices do not return that the truth came to distort these spaces,” said Cravioto.

The secretary indicated that groups must take care of the space, not allow the sale of marijuana or other substances, either tolerate the consumption of other drugs other than marijuana and inform the authorities in case this occurs, in addition to placing informative tables on responsible consumption.

Pedro Barrera, a member of the commune 420, said that as a collective they will also evaluate that the presence of the police is not excessive or intimidating for consumers, as well as that unjustified revisions or arrests are not carried out.

The activist clarified that the relocation to Simón Bolívar’s roundabout was an agreement, not an eviction.

“They are not releasing or recovering anything, they are getting involved in the Canabica community in these consumption spaces to provide safe spaces,” he told political expansion.

However, he acknowledged that the space that arose as a collective initiative so that cannabis consumers could exercise their right, was impacted by the problem of insecurity and drug trafficking.

“It was undeniable that this chaos had become, a red point this information square, then for the safety of cannabis users and consumers the decision was going to work with government,” he explained.
