The judge also emphasized: “our jurisdictional body always keeps in mind that its nature is to defend what is just. Injustices can never prevail in our actions and judgments either as an institution or as a person.”
In a session of the TJACDMX, convened for the submission of the annual activity report, Fuentes Jiménez gave a report on what was done in the last year, in which the concentration of files, the attention to defendants were modernized and the staff was trained to provide justice with adherence to human rights and non-discrimination.
In a special way, he recalled that the court is part of the City’s Anti-Corruption System and for this reason, and because the processes for the administration of justice have been improved, we can speak of progress.
“Today we have – he said – the satisfaction that our work has contributed to the society of this capital, so that they have a greater degree of certainty and confidence in their institutions. “It has become clear that we work to protect the interests of those most in need while contributing to the governance of this city.”
Society, the judge added, demands an effective, agile, accurate, modern and reliable transparent justice system where the law is applied without distinction. At the Administrative Justice Court of Mexico City we are moving towards these objectives with substantial progress.”
The judge was accompanied by the Minister of the Supreme Court of Justice of the Nation (SCJN) Yasmín Esquivel Mossa, and on behalf of the head of the city government, Clara Brugada, the legal advisor of Mexico City, Eréndira Cruzvilegas and the secretary of the capital’s government, César Cravioto, as well as judges and magistrates from the various chambers of the jurisdictional body.
Before them, Judge Fuentes Jiménez clarified that there are still pending issues, but there is progress.
“Far from a triumphalist appreciation, we seek to be realistic; although we highlight the actions and results, we recognize that the achievements are partial, that several of the efforts made still need to be consolidated.
“For this reason, we continue working to achieve the vision that our beloved Court deserves; today the scenario confirms that we are starting from a realistic diagnosis, that we are on the right path,” the judge considered.
